Outreach "In nothing does man’s affinity with God lie so much as in his capacity to do good.”-Saint Gregory the Theologian
It was only when Barnabas sold his land and gave it up to the apostles that he was then freed to evangelize (Acts 4:36-37). Paul encouraged the Corinthians to give cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:6-10). And most importantly, the Lord himself taught us in the parable of the rich man and Lazarus that we must work to bridge the gaps in our humanity, between rich and poor and so on, so that we don’t have to suffer those gaps eternally as did the rich man, unable as he was to cross over to the cool waters of Lazarus’ reward (Luke 16:19-31).
At Saint Gregory’s we’re committed to serving Christ in our community and in the world through service, charity, and presence. In addition to donating funds to local charitable agencies, we are committed to doing outreach through relationships and friendships. We believe God called us to do more than write checks, important though that is.
Thus, we have relationships with the new mission of Christ the Redeemer, with First United Methodist Church in Mansfield and Common Ground. We participate in the Centurion Project with the Diocese of Northern Malawi through our Diocesan World Missions. We’ve even sent a member across the ocean to do God’s work!
With the Spirit of God among us, there are no limits to what we can do. Do you want to help the poor and the marginalized here in Mansfield? Do you want to be a part of evangelism and church planting? Do you want to be a missionary overseas? You can do anything the Lord calls you to, and here’s where to start!
If you want to be a part of God’s love on the ground, contact Fr. Rogers or Bill Griffin.
